Mary Vivian Rushing, 75 passed on to her heavenly home February 14, 2013, with her loving son Douglas and friends by her side. She was born September 23, 1937 in Brantley, Alabama to George A. and Ida (Chancellor) King. She is survived by her son Douglas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James, and brother Norman. Vivian graduated from Pensacola High in 1955 and from Pensacola Jr. College with an Associate’s Degree. She worked many years at the Medical Center Clinic and West Florida Hospital as a medical records transcriber. She was a Charter Member of BAARS Street UMC and served as organist for over thirty years. She also played piano for Gospel groups in the local area.

The Family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Covenant Hospice at West Florida Hospital for their compassionate and professional care for Vivian. Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2013, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., at WATERS & HIBBERT FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
